"FAIR TAX" WILL LOSE, BUT STEPHENS, FOXX AND BIDEN WILL WIN: HERE ARE 2020 PREDICTIONS
In a politician's lexicon there are four egregious lies that are regularly regurgitated: (1) TRUST me. (2) I'm FIGHTING (or STANDING UP) for you. (3) I won't RAISE your taxes. And (4) it's NOT my fault. And time after time, gullible and/or disinterested voters believe that deceitful drivel - and the political hacks go unpunished and get elected. TRUMP'S POLL NUMBERS AT THEIR CEILING -- MORTALITY, SELF-PRESERVATION WILL DERAIL COURT-PACKING
History repeats itself. Human nature does not change. But as every astute pollster (and political analyst) knows, election outcomes never repeat themselves. 2020 is not 2016. A Trump win then is not a guarantee Trump wins now. According to my pollster contacts, here is what is clearly happening: America is more to the left than it was in 2016, and Trump is more obnoxious than he was in 2016. Trump was the "change" candidate in 2016 and now he is the status quo candidate. And 2020's "status quo" has become unacceptable and intolerable to many voters. Biden, who has been in Washington for 47 years, is now by default the "change" candidate.Power is not power until and unless it is used, and Republicans are using it to confirm Amy Coney Barrett. ILLINOIS SENATE REPUBLICANS NOT YET AT ROCK BOTTOM -- BUT MARTWICK WINS
The good news for Illinois Senate Republicans is that they have probably hit rock bottom. They are a 40-19 super-minority. Can it get any worse? The bad news is that it can. In 2020 there are 20 senate seats up for election - 16 Democrats and four Republicans. Only five seats are competitive, and appointed Senator Rob Martwick's (D) Northwest Side Chicago/suburban 10th District is not among them. Springfield Republican strategists long ago wrote-off Martwick's opponent Anthony Beckman (R), a Norridge cop, as a waste of time. Full Article...

NO "RETURN TO SENDER" FOR FOXX AS STATE'S ATTORNEY
Politically, Kim Foxx has a lot of baggage. Her competence as Cook County state's attorney is questionable considering her track record. She won't even debate her opponent. But she will win. She was accused by special prosecutor Dan Webb of "substantial abuses of discretion" in the Jussie Smollett case, and of making "false or misleading" statements. She also appears to ignore the "letter of the law," having dismissed 25,193 felonies since 2017. More than 1,000 arrestees for murder, robbery or gun possession are free on electronic monitoring due to her bail bond policy and prosecuting rioters and looters is not a Foxx priority. But that doesn't bother a whole lot of people - actually, the majority. Voters had the opportunity on March 17 to stamp "Return to Sender" on Foxx's prosecutorial package, but it was unsent. She was re-nominated with 50.3 percent in the Democratic primary. That was before the April 17 Webb report. They have another chance on Nov. 3 when she faces former judge Pat O'Brien, a Republican. Prediction: Opinions on Foxx's record range from abominable to enlightened. Old White Guy O'Brien has no traction. Foxx will win 57-43. Full Article...
