ASSESSOR KAEGI IN CROSSHAIRS WITH MARKET VALUE SPIKES AND 2022 PRIMARY CHALLENGE

In the olden days, it was common to kill the messenger for bearing bad news. Fortunately for first-time Cook County Assessor Fritz Kaegi (D) 2021-22 is not the olden days, but many city and suburban residents are upset about their property assessment values and tax rates spiking in certain areas. And they want someone to blame. One possible candidate could be Kari Steele. She is the president of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) since 2019, is the daughter of onetime South Side 6th Ward alderman and judge John Steele, and has a push-poll in the field which reveals her strategy - which is to tap into the democratic socialtist/liberal/minority contingent which constitutes a majority of the county' Democratic base. THE LEFT ALWAYS WINS LONGTERM, BUT WON'T IN 2022

I hate to say it, but the Left is winning. That fact cannot be ignored, eradicated or canceled, which is what would happen if the Left were losing. Throughout history the Left has usually been winning. Liberals have become even more liberal, and conservatives even less conservative. There is a continual pendulum: A surge of “Leftist” activity (like now), enactment of “Leftist” initiatives, then a pushback and conservative retrenchment, and then a decade or so later even more liberalism. A “liberal” is defined by Webster’s dictionary as someone who is “tolerant of views different from one’s own... favoring societal reforms tending toward democracy and personal freedoms.” Yeah right, not anymore. Forget that. Full Article...

LIGHTFOOT IS CORRECT: HER RE-ELECTION IN 2023 IS "NOT A GIMME"

Mayor Lori Lightfoot proclaimed recently in a podcast interview with The New York Times that a second term run for her is "not a gimme." She may not run because she may not win, kind of like Rahm Emanuel decided not to seek reelection. Or she will not run because she knows that her mayoral stewardship by 2023 guarantees that she will not win when put to a referendum,
One thing is for sure, voters may be ready for a regime change. It may stem from the ongoing repercussions of the Aug. 7 slaying of police officer Ella French, which is obviously not her fault, but she has to wear the hat for it on this. Or it may stem from a growing litany of problems that have only been compounding on her watch, crime being one of the main ones. Full Article...

PELOSI TELLS ILLINOIS DEMOCRATS: EXTERMINATE 2 REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMEN

What Nancy Pelosi wants, Nancy Pelosi gets-at least until the 2022 mid-term elections. With a tenuous 220-212 Democratic majority (and three vacancies being two Democrats and one Republican), it is a veritable certainty that Republicans will flip at least 5 Democratic House seats, with a net gain giving them 218 seats, likely up to 230 or more, and a 2023 majority. But Pelosi has a counter-attack game plan. In Illinois the Pelosi goal is to get rid of two. Illinois loses one seat, and it might be Adam Kinzinger's (R) 16th District, which wraps around the Chicago metro area from Iroquois County on the Indiana border to Boone and Winnebago counties on the Wisconsin border.
