"TEA PARTY" TAINT SINKS "EXTREMISTS" WALSH, DOLD AND BIGGERT
"Extremism" works, "Tea Party" taints, and Republicans Joe Walsh, Bob Dold and Judy Biggert lost their 2012 congressional races. Walsh was particularly toxic. Democratic ads ripped him mercilessly, and tied him to colleagues Dold and Biggert. It worked. The media and liberals have succeeded in redefining the Tea Party. Once a bunch of citizens focused on restoring fiscal sanity, they're now portrayed as a bunch of gun-obsessed, homophobic misogynists. The complacent Biggert beat herself, Walsh's motor-mouth was his undoing, and the 100,000 Cook County voters swiped from Dold's district by Democratic re-mappers was fatal, but all three lost because Obama voters rejected "extremism" and backed every Democrat running.Full Article...

OBAMA VOTE DOWN BY 560,000; REPUBLICANS "CRATER" IN SPRINGFIELD
Illinois was the "Land of Obama" in 2008. It was a bit less in 2012. Barack Obama won the state by 1,388,167 in 2008; he won it by 826,695 in 2012 -- a drop off of 560,000 votes. But Republicans didn't benefit. Mitt Romney got 2,090,116 votes, only slightly more than John McCain's 2008 2,031,179. Despite disappearing Obama votes, those voting for Obama backed every other Democrat. Republicans in the state legislature "cratered": Democrats control the state Senate 40-19 and the state House 71-47. Remember this: After the 1990 election, Democrats were up 72-46. 2014 should be a bounce-back election, but Republicans are so deep in a hole that Democrats will control both chambers until 2022, and likely beyond.Full Article...

"OBAMA NATION'S" HIBERNATION DOES NOT BENEFIT ROMNEY
In 2008, the "Obama Nation" emerged. Obama got 10.7 million more votes than Kerry in 2004. But in 2012, the "Obama Nation" submerged. Turnout was an astounding 12 million lower than 2008's, and Obama got 8.8 million fewer votes -- and still won by about 2.8 million. Idiotic Republicans drove up Democratic turnout with their anti-abortion diatribes. But Romney got 2 million fewer votes than McCain. The "Bush Nation" is aging and dying off. Full Article...

NO POLITICAL "CLOSURE": RACES UNDERWAY FOR 2013, 2014, 2015, AND 2016
"Closure" is an oxymoron in Chicago, Cook County, and Illinois politics. The 2012 election is over, but maneuvering posturing for the 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 elections has already begun. That's another 48 months of politics. In 2013, 30 suburban Cook County townships and 115 municipalities will hold elections. In 2014, there's Dick Durbin's U.S. Senate seat, all statewide offices, and the Cook County Board president and other officers. In 2015, there's Rahm's re-election. And in 2016, Michelle Obama may run against ailing U.S.Senator Mark Kirk. It never ends.Full Article...
